Surface Wellhead Stack
Used with FMC’s mudline system, this surface wellhead has been designed to save time in assembly/disassembly. When the well is abandoned, access to the hanger and packoff can be achieved by nippling down the connection at the casing head and lifting the stack as a single unit. Main functions of this system:
- Suspend risers at the rig
- Provide annulus packoff seals between risers
- Support the BOP
During installation of the wellhead, spools can be landed as a single unit with the BOP on top, after the casing head and lower bushing. All subsequent hangers and bushings can be installed without nippling down the BOP or adding other spools. This surface stack system can be enhanced further by Speedloc quick connectors, available in 21-1/4" 2,000 psi, 13-5/8" 5,000, and 10,000 psi.
